Privacy Policy

At Apna Saathi ("we", "us", "our") your privacy is fundamental to the product. This page explains, in plain English, what data we collect, why, and how we protect it.

1. What we collect

• WhatsApp identity: your phone number and the name shown on your WhatsApp profile.
• Content you send us: text messages, voice notes, images (prescriptions, tickets, bills, screenshots, photos) that you choose to share with the bot.
• Extracted details: structured data we extract from your content — for example medicine names, doctor names, ticket PNRs, bill amounts, due dates.
• Technical metadata: message timestamps, delivery status, error logs (used only for debugging and reliability).

2. What we do not collect

• We do not access your WhatsApp contacts, chats with other people, or messages you don't send to us.
• We do not access your phone storage, photos, microphone, or location independently.
• We do not buy or sell personal data with third parties.
• We do not use your messages or images to train large language models.

3. Why we collect it

Strictly to operate the service you asked for:

• To classify your message (medicine, ticket, bill, event, note, etc).
• To send you reminders at the times you choose.
• To let you retrieve your saved items via "show medicines" / "show all".
• To improve reliability and detect abuse.

4. Where it is stored

Data is stored in our database hosted on Supabase (ap-south-1, Mumbai), with all transit encrypted (TLS) and authentication secured. Backups are encrypted at rest.

5. AI providers

To extract details from your text and images we use Groq's hosted Llama Scout model. Content is sent over an encrypted connection, processed on demand, and never used to train models per Groq's terms.

6. Messaging provider

We deliver and receive WhatsApp messages through Gupshup, a Meta-approved Business Solution Provider. Their privacy practices apply alongside ours for the message transport layer.

7. Your rights

• Access: message "show all" on WhatsApp to see what we've saved for you.
• Deletion: message "delete my account" on WhatsApp and we permanently delete every record we have about you within 7 days.
• Correction: message "edit X" or "delete X" for any specific item.
• Export: Saathi Basic members can request a CSV/PDF export anytime.

8. Children

Apna Saathi is not designed for users under 13. If a parent or guardian believes a minor has interacted with the bot, please email hello@apnasaathi.online and we'll remove the account immediately.

9. Updates

We'll update this policy as the product evolves. Material changes will be announced on WhatsApp before they take effect.
